Keith Sims Media Arts
Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, Keith was extremely interested in the arts from the get-go. A piano player at 5 and a consummate lego-builder, Keith loved geometry and balance in all aspects of creativity.

Graduating in 1987 from 12 years of Catholic school (insert groan here) Keith attended the local college, where after (and during) getting his A.A., went right into his profession. While in college, Keith played and toured with several bands as drummer, from rock to rock-a-billy! Working and learning at two prestigious advertising agencies, Hemmer & Yates and Mike Kenney Graphic Design & Advertising, Keith pursued a path into film & video. With his first short "Cute Terror" done at age 16, Keith became obsessed with the "motion" medium. In 1993, Keith met up with Gary Stover. They started Sims/Stover Productions, where they delved into production on period shorts "Creek" and "Ashen Tenet". In 1996, Keith, along with brother David, developed "Sweet Tooth" a feature-length motion picture.

Keith left MKGD&A in 1995 to work as Advertising Director for the Seville Quarter entertainment complex. Keith was offered the position of Webmaster in 1999 for ARVIDA/St. Joe's newest planned community, WaterColor. Keith developed web sites, online marketing and direct-email advertising that lead to communities WaterSound and their exclusive WaterColor Inn. At this time, Keith opened Sims Motion Picture and Design Troupe, a full-service ad agency to allow for future development in design, video and web.

Based in the Historic District of Pensacola, The Sims Troupe's clientele grew exponentially. Clients included Cogon Systems, LAXOR, ARVIDA/St. Joe, Blend, and many more. Sims Troupe expanded out of it's 1-room office, to its place directly on Seville Square in the historic district. Sims Troupe hired on George Johnson, to head it's web division along with Oliver Mercado for it's identity development and client DAM (Digital Asset Management) division. Dana Smith was brought on board to handle copy writing along with Sindy Henderson as Office Manager.

In 2004, Sims Troupe was lost due to Hurricane Ivan. Sims Troupe had been talking with Keith's brother, David and his agency A.Tomlinson-Sims Advertising for a while about partnering, well, Ivan was a great impetus. Keith packed-up and left for Florence, Alabama where he works today as ATSA's Media Arts Director.

ATSA expanded it's video presence when Keith arrived. Some of ATSA's clients include the University of North Alabama, The Objectivist Center and Cavalier Homes. Keith is currently producing and directing a program for Cavalier Homes that will debut on HGTV in fall of 2006.

Keith resides in Sheffield, Alabama and is becoming involved with the local filmmaking community. Keith, a private pilot, enjoys flying and traveling as often as he can!
